Not in a mud hut with one doorway as the Hathapradikpa suggests ...

In my book your practice space has to be (1) quiet (2) light (3) clean (4) free of distractions (5) big enough for your mat. Beyond that you can let your imagination run free. I love practicing right near my bed in the mornings these days. I get up feed the cats, eliminate, brush my teeth, shower... and then I roll out my mat and begin. I like a good two hours so I can do 20 minutes meditation, 20 minutes of pranayama and 80 minutes of asana. The beach early am with no wind is also beautiful. Be mindful of the wind as it is not good for your Vata constitution to practice in it.
